Hi All,
When I first got my DAW I did some research on what plugs to get. There was just so much out there, and then i went into a phase of wanting all the expansions and omnisphere and trilian and stylus rmx, even I knew deep down that I did not need them and the less sounds I had the more I could do with them. Eventualy, I did not get any other plugs and stuck to the stuff that came with Sonar. Have ahy of you other electronic musicians had this want of plugs but knowledge that you did not need them?

Hey matt. Oh yes, I've had it. having a bunch of plugs is a blessing and a curse. You can get really side tracked when you really should be creating. It's much healthier to work with what you have. A lot of it is just clever marketing, which is why I don't read things like electronic musician that often. The need for a lot of this stuff, software and hardware, is just an artificial need created by the industry and publishers etc to make money. You're better off putting your money into good monitors, microphones, preamps, room treatement, and instruments, if that applies.

Thanks, that's kind of what I thought. I'm not planning to get any plugs, They're not manditory and though I want them, I don't need them and can surely live without them

If I were to get decent monitors and update from my m-audio 150 dollar monitors, would the krk rokit g2 five inch monitors be a good choice?
